Hetzner Online is the best German hosting provider for private clients! Hetzner Online was awarded the eco Award in 2007 in the “best hosting provider for private clients” category. The award, which is one of the most important in the internet industry, is bestowed by the Association of German Internet Enterprises annually in thirteen categories to recognise successful companies for outstanding innovative and noteworthy service. Hetzner Online won over the jury of top management in the ITC industry, ITC associations and press representatives and held sway against the competition Server4you and Strato. After the magazine for professional information technology IX tested the Hetzner Root Server DS 5000 in June 2006, the c’t (magazine for computer technology) followed with a similar test of dedicated and virtual servers. According to the authors, Helge Cramer and Holger Bleich, the DS 3000 was at the cutting edge of the test market with the best total performance over the testing period. In IX’s server comparison test, issue 6/2006, the Root Server DS 5000 asserted its position as the fasted server. Competing with Hetzner Online in the endurance test under the title “a comparison of dedicated and virtual hired servers” were seven established providers of dedicated or virtual servers. The object of investigation concentrated on the internal server attributes as well as on related network connections. The Hetzner Root Server DS 5000 passed all the test phases with flying colours. The authors, Marcus Proest and Gianfranco Ricci, dubbed the DS 5000 as the “strongest horse in the race”.
