2. Thawte SSL Certificate 256 Bit - address validated

With address-validated certificates, amongst other things, registration certificates, bank details and telephone numbers are certified by Thawte. When clicking on the SSL lock of the certificate holder in the browser, the user can see the company name and location.

This SSL web server certificate offers a comprehensive authentication system (verification of domain name and identity). Depending on the client’s browser performance and the crypto algorithms installed on your web server, one can have 256, 128, 56 or 40 Bit encryption, thereby ensuring that the information transferred between your web server and the web browsers of your clients remains confidential.

Instead of purchasing an own certificate for each domain, this certificate enables you to optionally use "Subject Alternative Names" (SAN) thus using the same certificate for up to four further domain names in addition to the main domain. The costs for SAN domains are charged separately to the fees for the certificate.

Conditions:

A maximum of 4 SAN domains per SSL Certificate are possible.
All SAN domains need to be specified at the time of ordering.
All SAN domains need to be on the same server.
It is not possible to add further SAN domains later.
It is not possible to change SAN domain names during the term of the certificate.

When clicking on the SSL lock of the certificate holder in the browser the user can see the company name and location. Thawte Wildcard SSL Certificates secure multiple subdomains with a single SSL Certificate, reducing management time and cost. Using the wildcard notation allows you to extend security to different subdomains based on your top-level domain name.

Open/Close Content We require the following information from you:

Specify duration
Domain names (please provide us with the exact name and sub-domain e.g. http://www.ihr-name.de. The certificate is issued just for this domain)
Address of company for which the certificate is being issued
Surname, name, telephone number and email address of the person responsible and his/her position in the company e.g. Director
A CSR key (open key) which is generated by the server to which the domain points. Instructions for generation can be found at http://www.verisign.de/support/mpki-ssl/csr-web-server-certificate.html*
A description of which SSL software the CSR-Key was generated with, e.g. Apache modSSL*
A description of the email address to which the Approve E-Mail can be sent. Webmaster@, admin@, administrator@, hostmaster@ and root@ are available, plus the domain name for which the certificate will be issued
Billing address to which we can the invoice, in case you are not a client of ours.

Please send the order by email or fax. The CSR key must be sent by email. The order is usually completed within 24 hours during support hours.

* For clients with Managed Server or Shared Hosting accounts, the CSR key is generated by Hetzner. Please note the associated fees, which can be found with the corresponding offers.
