New powerful Dedicated Root Servers!
The eagerly awaited new models of dedicated root servers are being presented
by Hetzner Online from today thereby setting new benchmarks for the web
hosting market. The new EX 4, EX 5, EX 6 and EX 8 servers are equipped with
substantially more computing power and disk space. The price remains
affordable as ever. Besides an excellent price-performance ratio, the new
models particularly impress with their energy efficiency.
The consumer models EX 4 and EX 5 make use of the proven Intel Quad-Core
i7-2600 and i7-920 Processors. The high-end models EX 6 and EX 8 use Intel's
new Xeon generation of E3-1245 and E3-1275 Processors.
Computing power is ensured by a standard 16 GB DDR3 RAM. The Hetzner
dedicated root server EX 5 with its massive 24 GB is the memory giant among
the dedicated root servers. In addition, the error-correcting code "ECC"
guarantees more stability for dedicated root servers EX 6 and EX 8. Ensuring
sufficient disk space are up to 2 x 3 TB SATA 6 Gb/s HDDs. The dedicated
root server EX 8 is the ideal choice for individualists and can be modularly
equipped with up to four hard disks. Clients can choose between a 3 TB SATA
6 Gb/s 7200 rpm, a 120 GB SSD or a 300 GB SAS 6 Gb/s 15000 rpm hard disk for
an additional charge of 15 Euros per month.
High-quality enterprise hard disk drives are used for the first time in both
EX 6 and EX 8 models. A 3 TB SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 rpm hard disk can be booked as
an enterprise version with the EX 8 model for 25 Euros monthly. Two of these
enterprise hard disks are integrated in the dedicated root server EX 6 as a
standard feature.
Unlimited traffic usage ensures more cost transparency. Comprehensive
features, such as the rescue system to eliminate software problems, the
24 hour reset service and server monitoring or 100 GB backup space round
off the offer. Furthermore, the dedicated root server EX 8 includes a KVM
over IP remote management console and a second redundant power supply unit.
The EX 4 starter model is already available for 49 Euros per month, the EX 5
and EX 6 models for 59 Euros and 69 Euros respectively. The basic version of
the modular-based EX 8 server costs 89 Euros. Other than that, a one-off
setup fee of 149 Euros is charged. The contract terms are also client
friendly, so as usual all four models are offered without minimum contract
periods.
